Review by hotel critic
Perched above Golden Bay, The Bay Lodge offers breathtaking views of the Millennium Reserve. The impeccable attention to detail in every corner, from the premium bedding to the furnished patios, truly sets this place apart. Sonja and Filip, the friendly hosts, curated a memorable stay, including special touches like a private deck, espresso maker. The outdoor entertainment area was a perfect spot to unwind, complemented by the seasonal pool and spa tub for added relaxation. Our hosts organized a delightful stone-grilled dinner on our private balcony, a highlight among the many activities available including scenic flights and horse riding. The tastefully decorated studio unit provided a tranquil retreat, while still being close to nearby attractions like Wainui Falls and Te Waikoropupū Springs. The genuine care and warmth shown by Sonja and Filip made our stay truly unforgettable, showcasing the best of Kiwi hospitality.I highly recommend The Bay Lodge for those seeking a perfect blend of luxury and nature in Golden Bay. It's a haven for eco-conscious travelers, with sustainable practices subtly woven into the experience. As an environmental scientist, I appreciate the efforts towards responsible tourism, making this retreat not just a stay, but an ethically enriching journey. Unwind, explore, and connect with nature - all under the caring guidance of Sonja, Filip, and the beauty of Golden Bay.
